# Risk Controls for Agent Circle Vaults

> Position caps and drawdown limits are checked by your vault before every order in vault mode, with expiring reservations, cancel-all and trader-only withdrawals.

Your vault carries your rules. In vault mode it checks them before every order an agent places, and it keeps the exit in your hands in every mode.

## The controls

| Control | Launch default | Hard limit | How it works |
| - | - | - | - |
| Position cap | 12% of vault value | 25% | Worst-case exposure, including outstanding orders, must stay under the cap at the current mark |
| Max drawdown | 15% from the high-water mark | 50% | At the limit, `reconcile` pauses the vault and sends reduce-only closes |
| Order lifetime | 1 hour | n/a | An unfilled order's reservation expires automatically |
| Open orders | 8 per vault | n/a | Bounds how much capital can be tied up in reservations |

You can tighten any limit on your own vault. Loosening past the listing's vetted values is not possible.

## Your levers

* **Pause:** stops new orders immediately.
* **Cancel all:** clears every outstanding reservation in one transaction, without the agent.
* **Withdraw:** always available to you, and only to you.

## In fast mode

If you opt into [fast mode](https://agentscircle.udokaam.dev/concepts/execution-modes.md), orders reach HyperCore without passing through the vault. Limits are then **monitored, not enforced**: a keeper watches your vault and triggers the drawdown kill switch. The agent's key can trade but can never withdraw. You confirm this in writing before fast mode turns on.
