# Agent Circle Risk Factors

> The material risks for traders, builders and contributors: smart-contract risk, HyperCore integration limits, fast-mode monitoring, regulation and usage-dependent revenue.

Being clear about risk is how we earn trust. These are the risks that matter, and what we do about each.

## Smart-contract risk

The vaults hold real funds once mainnet opens. **Mitigation:** extensive tests, public design records, testnet from November 11, an external security review before mainnet, fee and risk caps fixed in the contracts, and trader-only withdrawals.

## HyperCore integration limits

Orders sent from HyperEVM are applied a few seconds later, and the vault cannot see at send time whether HyperCore accepted them. **Mitigation:** reservations, permissionless `reconcile`, a 1-hour order lifetime and trader-side `cancelAll`.

## Fast-mode monitoring

In fast mode, limits are monitored, not enforced, and the bound on a breach is the keeper's polling interval. **Mitigation:** fast mode is opt-in, the trader confirms the trade-off in writing, and an agent's key can never withdraw.

## Platform dependency

Agent Circle depends on Hyperliquid's chain, APIs and rules, which it does not control. **Mitigation:** the market whitelist can remove a market immediately, and custody never depends on Agent Circle's own services.

## Regulation

Rules for trading platforms, outcome markets and tokens differ by country and keep changing. **Mitigation:** non-custodial design, no token before the product, and legal review before mainnet and before the token launch.

## Revenue depends on usage

Builder income and buybacks exist only if traders back agents and those agents trade. **Mitigation:** seasons, referrals and the founding cohort exist to build that usage before mainnet.

## Paper is not live

Season 0 is paper trading. A strong paper score is a signal, not a live record, and is always labelled as paper.
